The grand ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held today, showcasing China's firm commitment to pursuing peace and justice to the world.

At 9:00 AM today, a commemorative ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Beijing's Tiananmen Square.

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping attended the ceremony and reviewed the troops.

This military parade was conducted in accordance with the institutional arrangements for major national memorial days, serving as an important component of commemorative activities with significant political and historical implications.

01 Parade Arrangements:

70-Minute Display of Military Strength The September 3rd military parade proceeded through two phases: a military review and a column march, lasting approximately 70 minutes. During the review phase, the inspected troops marched along Chang' an Avenue in formation, receiving honor inspection. The column march phase saw formations passing through Tiananmen Square in sequence: aerial flag guard formations, marching formations, battle flag formations, equipment formations, and aerial formations. The parade featured 45 formations (tanks) covering ground and air forces, showcasing the brilliant achievements of China's national defense and military modernization.

02 Force Composition: 45 Formations Systematically Presented. The aerial flag-guarding formations consist of multiple helicopter units arranged in various formations, symbolizing the nation's growing prosperity and military expansion under the Communist Party of China's leadership through flag protection, character formation, and slogan displays. 03 Military Equipment: Domestic Main Battle Equipment Exhibition. The equipment formation showcases China's active-duty combat systems through realistic joint arrangements. Selected flags representing different periods, regions, and military units—distinguished by their historical significance—are carried by personnel from their respective units during the review.

03 Weaponry and Equipment: Central Exhibition of Domestic Active-Combat Main Battle Equipment The equipment formations were organized into 13 units according to realistic joint configurations, including land combat groups, maritime combat groups, air defense and missile defense groups, information warfare groups, unmanned combat groups, rear support groups, and strategic strike groups. Many of these represent the latest equipment reflecting the evolution of modern warfare, while others are national heavyweights, fully demonstrating our military's formidable capability to win modern wars. All reviewed weapons and equipment were domestically produced active combat main battle equipment. The aerial formations were organized in modular and systematic configurations, consisting of advanced early warning command aircraft, fighters, bombers, transport aircraft, and other types, basically covering all active combat aircraft models of our military. Many were star equipment that drew public attention, while others made their first public appearance, vividly showcasing the leapfrog development of our air combat capabilities.

04 Artistic Presentation: Largest Military Band Conveys Contemporary Resonance The new military band, composed of over a thousand soldiers, formed the largest joint military band in parade history. Before the Monument to the People's Heroes, they performed well-known classic anti-Japanese war songs. These musical pieces collectively evoke memories of those arduous years of resistance and pay tribute to heroes who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom. Some newly created compositions reflecting contemporary characteristics and military strength will also be performed for the first time on Tiananmen Square.

At 8 PM, the Great Hall of the People in Beijing will host the commemorative gala "Justice Will Prevail" marking the 80th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The gala centers on the significant historical milestones and scenes of the Eastern front in the World Anti-Fascist War, employing multiple stage art forms such as music, dance, and situational drama. Symbolic Significance: Distinct themes of peace and development. The released doves and balloons for this commemorative event are nearly ready, bringing an aerial ceremony symbolizing the Chinese people's cherishing of peace and forging ahead to Tiananmen Square. The balloons feature six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, and light blue. Six hundred students from the Beijing Police Academy, after two months of summer training in balloon release, will collaboratively release 80,000 balloons, creating a magnificent spectacle of simultaneous ascension with 80,000 doves.

According to the schedule, two students form a team responsible for inflating and tying 450 balloons, completing each in an average of 7 to 8 seconds. The size of the balloons also has strict requirements, ensuring complete degradation upon bursting and landing. International
